Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco - Abra Malaga - Santa Maria (Biking & Rafting)

06:00 AM Departure from Cusco to the Sacred Valley and Abra Malaga (4,350 masl). 3-hour bike descent (55 km) to Huamanmarca. Lunch in Santa Maria. In the afternoon, optional rafting on the Vilcanota River (April to December, must know how to swim). Overnight in Santa Maria.

Day 2: Santa Maria - Inca Trail - Quellomayo - Santa Teresa

Trekking along the Inca Trail toward Santa Teresa. Stop at a local home to learn about customs. Canyon crossing and views of the Salkantay snowcapped peak. Descent to Quellomayo for lunch and rest. Walk to the Cocalmayo hot springs. Transfer to Santa Teresa and overnight.

Day 3: Santa Teresa - Hydroelectric - Aguas Calientes

Breakfast and optional zip line activity. Transport to Hydroelectric, trekking to Aguas Calientes passing by Intihuatana and Inka Rakay (lunch). Views of Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Day 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo - Cusco

Early, ascent to Machu Picchu (on foot or by bus). 2-hour guided visit and free time to explore. Option to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (advance reservation). Return to Aguas Calientes, train to Ollantaytambo and bus to Cusco.
