Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Check-in at Cumaceba Curaka Inn Lodge
Reception and transfer. City tour through downtown visiting Plaza de Armas, Matriz church, Iron House, riverfront, and historic rubber era mansions. Transfer to the private river port to board our boat. We navigate the Itaya River for 15 minutes, then enter the Amazon River. We travel upriver to Cumaceba Curaka Inn. Private cabin assignment. Orientation of the facilities and surroundings. Served lunch, typical dish "Juane". In the afternoon, jungle walk to observe tropical forest flora and fauna. Dinner. Night walk listening to the variety of sounds from insects, amphibians, and nocturnal birds. Jungle stories and myths.
Day 2: Excursion on the Amazon River
Birdwatching in their habitat on foot or by canoe depending on the season. Breakfast. Excursion on the Amazon River to search for gray and pink dolphins. Return to Cumaceba Curaka Inn. Lunch, typical dish patarashca. In the afternoon, walk along the Amazon riverbanks, observing the majesty of this natural wonder and taking photos and video. Depending on weather conditions, we may see a beautiful sunset. Return to Cumaceba Curaka Inn. Dinner. Night at the lodge.
Day 3: Fishing tour on the Amazon riverbanks
Breakfast. Fishing tour on the Amazon riverbanks, opportunity to catch catfish, piranhas, and more. Observation of Victoria Regia, the largest aquatic plant in the world. Return to Cumaceba Curaka Inn, lunch with a typical dorado fish dish. Relax in hammocks. In the afternoon, jungle excursion to see one of the most emblematic natural icons of the rainforest, the giant tree (Ceiba - Lupuna). Return. Dinner. Free night.
Day 4: Riverside experiences on the Amazon River
Breakfast. Depending on the season and conditions, we go to the Amazon riverbanks to enjoy the waters and landscape and experience lunch deep in the jungle, living like a riverside resident. Return to Cumaceba Curaka. In the afternoon, we go to the forest to collect tropical fruits, medicinal plants, and other items, which will be explained by our guide, including their use and benefits. Return to the lodge. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 5: Learning more about the jungle
Breakfast. We will enjoy an interactive sequence "Learning more about the jungle" to exchange knowledge, anecdotes, beliefs, words, foods, and much more so our passengers can be part of our culture. Free morning. Lunch. Timely return to the city of Iquitos. Transfer to the airport. End of services.
