Itinerary
Day 1: Tambopata River and Walk
09:00 AM Reception at the Monte Amazonico office for registration. Transfer by 4x4 for 2 hours to the Tambopata River. Boat to the lodge, welcome and lunch. In the afternoon, an introductory jungle walk to observe local fauna (amphibians, mammals, reptiles, insects).
Day 2: Macaw Clay Lick
04:30 AM Boat departure to Collpa Chuncho, the largest in the world. Observation of macaws, parrots, and wildlife (capybaras, tapirs, possible jaguar). Return to the lodge, breakfast and rest. Walk through the botanical garden. Lunch. In the afternoon, kayaking on the Tambopata River. Free night or optional night walk.
Day 3: Tambopata National Reserve
Breakfast and transfer to a new lodge in the Tambopata National Reserve. Guided forest walk, observation of flora and fauna, visit to Monkey Island, and night caiman tour. Dinner and rest.
Day 4: Sandoval Lake
Breakfast and 3 km walk to Sandoval Lake. Rowing boat ride, observation of birds, monkeys, giant otters, and caimans. Typical lunch, night walk, and rest.
Day 5: Canopy Walk-Way and Return
Walk along the Canopy Walk-Way 30 meters high to observe birds and the rainforest from above. Breakfast and return to the city, transfer to the airport or bus station.
